I have an obsession with personal hygiene, does anybody else?!

Question: I can't stand being near people who smell, my bf says that I have ocd. Is it too much to ask that people have a wash once a day?

i hate people who smell too. i was raised to take care of my personal hygiene and it grosses me out when others don't do the same.....

....i also hate it when people use too strong of a perfume/spray/whatev......i can't stand being in closed quarters with them.

i think i have a sensitive nose. got it from my momma.

It's good to be clean!

I agree with you.. nothing worse then someone that stinks!!!!!!!!!!

it is , do'nt forget there are people who are not able to wash every day

you should try and get over your obsession

i agree with you i wash my feet at least once a mouth no matter what

No, it's just you.

Honestly, it's really just you.

you might have ocd .. but who wants to smell nasty people!!!!
im with ya girl

No, I agree with you. When someone walks past you or stands near you and you can smell stale sweat it really is disgusting. A wash and some deodorant isn't asking too much at all.

No, but some of us because of the lifestyle we lead, could stand to bathe or shower twice a day! *not to mention, some people just have BO for medical reasons.

You don't have ocd. Everyone like you has things that they need to be perfect or are terrified of that some ppl may find strange. For me it's that I'm scared of hoeboes, feet, and I am a little bit of a germaphobe. It doesn't make me weird it just makes us different. Also it's ok to be different.

I dont think anyone likes being near people who smell. Even those who wash their hands and open the restroom door with a paper towel don't neccesarily have OCD.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder means you have certain anxious obsessions with things that can only be calmed by engaging in a ritualized behavior. For example:

You might have OCD if, when you stood near anyone who had body odor, you would feel anxious, sweaty, and unclean until you took a shower. You also might think something terrible would happen if you did not immediately shower, like you would contract a disease. The actual taking of the shower would probably have ritualized nature; like first you get in, then you use soap, then shampoo, then soap, then wash your face, etc., and if this order was interuppted you would still feel that extreme anxiety and discomfort.

So, in a word, no, you don't have OCD if you just really dont like being near smelly people. I don't like it either.

I hardly think it's ocd on your part to want people to use common sense and wash up once in awhile. I really agree with you and find it both repulsive and sick to be stuck somewhere and have to be subjected to unwanted "smells" from people that don't like themselves enough to wash. I used to work in retail and would have to deal with this on a daily basis. YUCK!!!!!!!!!

I also have something of cleaning and stuffs

i guess your obsession is more of a paranioa.you smelly little git, you're the smelly one,why don't you wash?

i have the opposite to you, i hate people who are clean, i hate water and soap. aaarrrrggghhh just thinking of cleansing makes my skin crawl aswell as these lice.

I'd have to agree with your bf, you might have ocd.

i hate smelly peeps but if u have a cleaning upsession just take it easy and 1 day just stop and say no i don't have to clean just now it can wait remember ur more important then cleaning xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
