Can A+ person donate part of liver to O+ person?!
Question: My dad needs a liver transplant. He had Hepatitis C and his liver is failing. He will be on chemo soon and supposed to be on it for a whole year. Can i donate part of my liver to him with our blood types being what they are? Also, does the disease have to be killed/remission for me to donate? thanks so much

No you cant, a type O person as Antibodies against A and B type blood. He can only accept organs from someone with type O blood. If it was the other way around YOU being type A can accept organs from O type because A types only have Antibodies to B type blood.
And also unfortunately he would need a COMPLETE liver transplant to get well, but Hepatitis C almost always infects the newly transplanted liver, but it can also extend the persons life and can usually do very well after the surgery. Though it is a rough one.
No. See this site:www.kidney.org
No you can't, he needs a donor with O+ . . .
