Can I take cold medicine, while on an antibiotic?I'm also taking Tylenol 3, !

Question: Yes; they are commonly prescribed together. You might want to take a "non-drowsy" decongestant, since decongestants that also have antihistamine in them have an additive effect with a CNS depressant like codeine. Also, be SURE to take ALL of your antibiotic, even after you're feeling better; a resistant infection is NOT fun to have, nor is the accompanying trip to the hospital that it usually requires.

You may want to use nasal spray if you are congested; do NOT share the bottle with anyone in your home, even if you think they have the same bug as you.

Feel better soon!
