How can I kill dust mites in the bedroom without using expensive commercial prod!

Question: They don't like heat very much so exposing it to the sun as much as you can would help a bit. I use eucalyptus oil in a spray bottle for the matress. No idea how much it works but if I forget to do it my son reacts so it must be doing something!!

clean your house dont be a pig....roflmao

Unfortunately, you can't kill dust mites. They are small enough that you can't see them with the naked eye.

The only ways to combat dust mites are:
1) keep a clean house
2) remove carpet
3) cover mattresses and pillows with hypoallergenic covers
4) dust and wash fabrics that tend to collect dust (including pillows and window coverings) frequently
5) purchase an air purifier/filter (optional)

You don't have to purchase an air filter to live happily with your dust mites...just make sure you leave as little dust as possible around for them to make their home.

Try the National Allergy Supply website which is the link I have below. It has a large amount of allergy solutions that won't cost an arm and a leg, however, with dust mites, they do come back, and you need to make sure you clean regularly (at least once a week) to minimize your problems.
