Can someone please explain what just happened?!


Question: i was sleeping and all of a sudden i just got up (my body before my mind) in panic so scared. i started hack coughing nonstop and gaging to the point where blood came up my nose. i seriously thought i was going to die then because i couldnt stop coughing, i was shivering really badly, and i couldnt breathe, think, or anything. i could feel all the blood running to my head. i thought it was poisoned or something. what just happened?

sounds like an anxiety attack the attack was prob brought on by a need to dry cough that causes the sensation of gagging and you began to cough and woke in a panic and kapt coughing
use a humidifier to keep it from happening again.

Nah... I'm betting you had a bloody nose and your body felt it and responded before you mind could. It just surprised the hell out of you.

No big deal. It's happened to me before.

ok, while unlikely, your symptoms indicate Tuberculosis. The coughing, the shortness of breath, shivering, blood, classic symptoms. I would definitely recommend you visit a physician, at which point i am sure he will order a chest x-ray. The x-ray will rule out TB, or any other lung problems you may have. Also depends on your medical history and living conditions. Get it checked out by a physician.
