Lisinopril question?!

Question: Anyone that takes this, do you have anxiety and ulcer problems? Also is this a calcium channel blocker or beta blocker or neither? I know it is an ACE Inhibitor, is this separate from the blockers?

Thanks for your kind answers to my questions.

Lisinopril is not a beta blocker or calcium channel blocker. It is an ACE inhibitor and actually blocks the conversion of angiotensin, a natural enzyme continuously produced by your body which narrows blood vessels. Common side effects include anxiety and that anxiety may be contributing to any gastric problems. Another possibility if you are having gastric problems is if you are also taking aspirin.

an ace inhibitor is a different class from the "blocker" medications, works in a completely different way.
the link above will give you all the info you may need.

I do take this in the smallest amount- just 5 mg /daily.
i have had trouble with anxiety for ages and the link posted says not to take it with diabetes meds or insulin.
I am not going to stop but I am going to call my doctor.
Thanks for the great question and the great answers.
