Acne, i hate it, how to make it go away?!

Question: i can not use products that contain benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or glycolic acid. i am very sensitive! right now my dermatologist has be on an oral antibiotic called adoxa (been on it for 3 weeks), she told me it takes 6 weeks to see results, and than she has be using plexion cleansing cloths 1x per day (morning) and i just started that today. i am starting birth control next week. i heard birth control clears up skin, i don't know how though, whats in it that clears up acne? what should i do? do i just got to wait and hope for results? i also get acne facials every 4 weeks. i have such low self esteem, i want to be confident again!

birth control is your answer my dear. i've been on it for 4 years - nothing worked as good for me. give it a month. it'll go away. i promise! good luck!

(by the way - i don't understand why birth control makes it go away either. the only thing i care about is that it does!!)

if you want to cover it up somewhat before you find a solution then use bare essentials makeup, its all natural and its really healthy for your skin actually...

good luck

I have ance too and I'm on birth control. Trust me, it don't clear it up. I use AcneeFree, but it has benzoyl peroxide in it. Sometimes acne is cause by stress, not by dirt or whatever. But if you're already going to the dermatologist, I'd just say find a face wash without those things, and if you wear alot of make up, that helps clog your pores which you don't want to do.

Hey, don't worry bout acne, it will go away =) But here are some things that I find to work very well.

1) Excercise & Fresh air, just take a shower directly after excercise.

2) Drink lots of water, it really helps.

3) Eat healthy

4) Use tea tree oil, put that on the acne, it really works! You get specific tea tree oils for acne etc.

5) I use little anti biotic pills, Cyclydox EC, find that, or something similar, amazing stuff.

6) Get Omega 3 & 6 Pills, it's great for skin. It's great for hair and nails aswell.

Hope that helps =)

You can lets for also get tablets for acne prescribed by the doctor. My brother is on the tablets and his skin is clearing up gradually. Go down and ask about them.

Hope all goes well

It sounds like you are the right track by going to the Dr and getting treated. Sometimes it takes a while to see results. Birth control can sometimes help.
Witch Hazel is a good product to use. I am not sure if it has the things you can't use in it or not. Ask your Dr if it is alright to use and read the label. You probably don't need to add another product to the ones you are already using so be sure and ask the Dr.

I had acne when I was a teenager and it took forever to get rid of it. My dermatologist tried several medications before he found one that worked. I would wait a few weeks to see if the acne clears up. If the acne does not clear up the dermatologist will prescribe you something else. Just hang in there things will get better. :-)

I can recommend 2 things. They are completely natural and do not contain any of those. One is TEA TREE oil. You can purchase this about anywhere. Walgreens usually has it on hand all the tim. You just put a dab of it on your infected area, and it dries and clears the acne in about 3 days! As for the face wash itself, there are two, amazing all natural cleansers that do wonders to your skin! Salon Instrukt is the only place that sells it. One is SONOTA'S lemon scrub, and the other is SONOTA'S milk and honey cleanser. I recommend getting both! The scrub helps remove dead skin and polish the surface, whereas the milk and honey moisterizes and clears. Both are helpful in the acne healing process. Well, good luck! Here is the website that will show you the face washes!

well..... i'm a long time acne sufferer and the only thing that worked for me was accutane. however, it's a strong remedy so you have to think about all the pros and cons.
I don't know your skin condition, but even the lightest acne can be bad as the skin tends to scar (I hope you're not prone to..), can leave marks and cause hyperpigmentation so I know what youre talking about....
the antibiotics don't help long-term, it's a proven fact, however, dermatologists tend to prescribe them to see if there's any effect before doing anything stronger-there's always hope! but me- I've tried all kinds of diff antibiotics- they cleared up my skin a bit, yes, but it came back afterwards and even much stronger than before! so I don't suggest to use them. but you have to try!
topical creams are also not long-term. personally I really like azelaic acid! also benozyl peroxide is good, but it dries the skin a lot and yes, my skin is sensitive too! benzoyl also cleared me up but not for long- it came back and I had one of the worst breakouts I'd eva had. but azelaic acid 20 % cream really does the job, it also doesn't dry the skin up, smoothers the skin and is safe and easy to apply.
I don't know much about birth control pills since I'm not a girl :)
well, anyway, be sure to consume A LOT of water every day, also check what you eat, don't smoke and try to live a bit healthier as usual, I know it mite be hard for some but you have to try. also every kind of activity helps a lot- especially swimming! it's really awesome, the water itself smoothers the skin. so pool swimming is advisable :) also take the fish oil pills which help a lot or eat some fish. salmon is always delicious :) also take vitamin a.......
and cheer up, acne hate happy ppl!
sure you'll be fine

update: about the tea tree oil... other ppl seem to talk about it.. it doesn't really help on acne..it's a really awesome thing as a prevention and it's antiseptic and healing but it's definitely not the right remedy for acne. none of the ppl I know have overcome acne with it

you could try clean and clear

also try haveing a skin ragime and stick to it

your diet also affects your skin

try stay away from greasy foods
fizzy drinks

and CHOCOLATE

chocolate is the culprite for all acne!

dont put make up on your face either
your face needs to breathe and by putting make up on it your suffacting your skin!

wash your face 2-3 times a day

hope this helps
