I've used Proactive before and that crap doesn't work for me. The same thing happened to me that happened to your friend. It turns out I was allergic. She might be putting on "too much" of the solution causing her face to turn red and irritated. The skin on your face is sensitive after all...

From what i've heard, it can discolour the skin so make sure she washes ALL of it off, then tell her to put a cold towel on her face to keep it from burning! Hope this helps :)

No big deal.
I use Pro-Active alll the time and I love it but sometimes it does cause me to peel or became a bit red.
It's ok - it just means that the product has removed all the excess oil from the skin - a little too much oil in fact - and now the skin is a bit dry.
Just put on some cream to moisturerize it and the redness will fade by today no problem.
I suggest anything with Aloe in it.
And it is not a allergic reaction - Pro-Active is made with products that are not known to cause any type of allergric reaction.
Discontinue use. If reddening or irritation continues after 48 hours seek medical advice.
That is strong stuff. Maybe she didn't need something so strong. Try something mild first, like MaryKay Velocity. It's mild and my 14year old daughter uses it.
