I have a lump... help?!

Question: I found a lump in the middle of my chest between my two breasts. Its more on the left side. I noticed it a couple months ago but forget about. It has me worried lately and I keep thinking of the different things it can be. It is the sized of a pea and hurts when I touch it and I can kindof move it around when I touch it. What do you think it can be? I keep thinking cancer but I just might be getting my self paranoid, but what else could it be?? by the way, I am 25 years old and have a 5 year old child. I go to the gyno on a yearly basis but just never asked her the last time i was there. Can someone please help me?

I doubt it's breast cancer, not that you're to young to have that, but the way you describe it, it just doesn't fit. If it were a cancerous lump, you wouldn't be able to push it around and it wouldn't be painful to the touch. Most likely a fibrous tissue lump.
For you own piece of mind, call your gyn tell her about it. She'll want to see you. Provide her with your family history related to breast cancer. If you don't know it, search it. She'll likely request an ultrasound or a mammogram. For your age mammograms may show false positive for a lump because you have dense breast tissue.
My girlfriend had a lump that was breast cancer and she was only 28 with no family history.
Get it checked....don't worry yourself to much about it benign cancer.....either way....you can't treat it until you know what it is. Don't fear it. Check it, learn about it, treat it.
Take care

P.S. My girlfriend is now 35 and a two time survivor. She's doing well, living life...

Do you dink a lot of Soda, and is it Grainy? Add more detail to tell me thxx.

EDIT:

Well since you DONT drink a lot of soda then it is not a "fiber-oid" thingy.
And i dont think it is cancer becuase it is not very grainy. It could be a small "pimple" type of thing under your skin.
Also during you "womanly sycle" things can happen like that.
But to be safe i suggest getting a doctors apontiment.
If you want me to find any sites just say it in detail!!!

? Hope every thing is alright! ?

EDIT-EDIT:

Also you are very young, breast cancer never happends if you are 20 and younger

Rarley happens if you are 20-30

And is more common in the ages of 30-55.

So i truly doubt you have it =]

? Good luck ?

Go to a dermatologist and find out what it is. If it is very small and under the surface, it probably is not cancer. It could by some small cyst, a lipoma (fatty tumor) or anything in-between. If you are worried, get it seen.

most likely not cancer but go to the doctor 2 b on da safe side!

I would see your doctor about this... someone trying to get a "diagnosis" on here is less helpful than relying on your own analysis/instincts...

My mom has cysts on her breasts. Her doctor told her not to worry about the ones that hurt or moved. It's the ones that cause no pain that are hard and do not move. Breast cancer, the silent killer. This however DOES NOT sound like that. Schedule a needle biopsy to make sure.

Sounds kind of like a ganglion cyst. I have seen them in wrists and ankles not so much around the sternum but I suppose anything is possible. Take note of the size and see if it changes. Would be best to talk to your doctor about it especially if you are worried.

When I was 21 I found a lump that grew from the size of a dime to a quarter. I checked it often, too often, and made it very tender. Wondered if you have been doing this too? My doctor chose to do a lumpectomy since it changed in size. It ended up being nothing but a benign growth. Unless you have breast cancer in your family I wouldn't jump to conclusions.

Good luck I hope it turns out to be okay.
