I don't know what to do?!

Question: My 2 1/2 year old son has had many problems with his lungs since he was born. For the past 3 months he has been on singulair, and we have amazingly had no problems.
Tonight, he got a bath with his new bath foam soap stuff for the first time, and immediately after getting out of the tub began vomiting. He did not eat any, but I wonder if the vapors might have caused this?
It also might be a tummy virus, but he has not been around anyone sick.
I am concerned because that was 5 hours ago. He has been dry heaving every hour or so since the irst vomiting episode. I plan to take him to the doctor when they open, but until then, what can I do?
I want to give him his nebulizer... but I don't know i that will upset his stomach more. It is difficult, because I cannot tell if the vomiting is from coughing too hard, or if he does have an upset tummy. All I know is that he is miserable.
Help?

Even if he does just have an upset stomach the vomiting could have triggered something similar to an asthmatic episode or coughing spasms due to his lung problems. I think it is safe to give him a nebulizer treatment if he is dry heaving. If you are worried about upsetting his stomach maybe start it off slow and maybe only do a half of treatment just to see if helps take him out of his misery. The vapors could have possibly caused it but there is no way of really knowing that. The best thing to probably do is take him to the ER or if there is an immediate care facility in your area and call his doctor. I'd say it's better to be safe than sorry. I hope your son feels better soon. Best of luck!

this falls into the call a medical professional category or at least head over to www.webmd.com. don't take anything that worries you lightly when it comes to the health of your child, especially at such a young age

You should call your pediatrician immediately or go to a 24 hour care center. I'm not trying to worry you, your son is probably fine, but at such a young age (and with previous health conditions) there is no such thing as "too careful." I'd wait around another hour trying to calm him down and get him to sleep and if his symptoms don't calm down--go to the ER. Good luck! I hope he feels better ASAP!

Better go to his doctor, Singulair can have some serious side effects and vomiting is one of them.
