The HIV "window period" and sex?!

Question: I may or may not have been infected with the HIV virus and know I must wait 3-6 months for accurate test results. In the mean time, should I abstain from sex and masturbation or do both with a condom to protect my sex partner and/or roommates (from accidental semen exposure)?

The HIV virus does not last for very long outside the human body so therefore:

- don't worry about your roommates unless you intend to actually touch them with your blood or semen. (that's kind of gross anyways, so don't be gross)

Secondly, you need to tell anyone that you are going to have sex with that this is what is going on. If they still insist that you are irresistible and that you have to have sex with them... absolutely, you need to use protection. (der.) This isn't particularly safe, since condoms break or leak sometimes.

Lastly, masturbation won't give anyone HIV unless you share bodily fluids. So if someone touching you got some semen in a cut or even in their eyes, then they could potentially catch HIV from you.

Personally, I'm a fan of monogamy - if your partner is faithful then you are really really safe.

yes

Yea quit "doing it" Its much better to be safe.

You would need to use condoms when having sex to protect your partner. The accidental semen exposure to your roommates isn't that likely to cause an infection unless they come in contact with fresh semen very soon after you ejaculated and it gets into an open sore of theirs. The HIV virus does not live outside the body for very long, so if there is semen on any surface, just clean it up using bleach and there should not be a problem..

abstain from sex- completely...at the very least make sure your partner knows your "maybe" status

You should abstain from having sex until you are shure you are not infected isnt going to be fair for other people. I wish the best of luck for you
