hi,
im 18 and have been living with stomach issues my whole life,
but only like 5 years ago,it got so bad,i have even been hospitalized for it.
i have a severe acid reflux/GERD,and im lactose intolerant...
once i was in the hopsital with continuous vomiting,diarhea,etc...
after i had some french fries and lots of other fired and acidic items, and they told me that on top of me being dumb and eating stuff i knew i wasnt supposed to, i had gastritis, and that it would go away...
well, it did,and as lon as i take my medicine, and eat right,im fine.
but technically, i was eating so many wrong things, that i had actually messed up my digestive system more than it was already...when you have acid reflux, your body kind of over-digests acidic, greasy, fatty foods, causing digestive acids to over produce, and destroy the linings of your digestive system over time, which could lead to stomach inflamation, ulcers, or gastritis.
anywayss,gastritis will eventually heal,but you have to eat a little different,meaning;
no fatty foods
no spicy foods
stay away as much as possible from tomato sauce, and acidic foods,
deep fried stuff

if your stomach is really feeling bad, stay away from caffeine, dairy, carbonated drinks, and beverages that you cant see through(coca cola, mountain dew, iced tea, coffee, milk, etc)
you could still drink other things besides water, but keep it limited:
sprite
ginger ale
herbal teas
etc..

and always carry something to kill the heartburn with you,(maalox,zantac,etc...)

i also included a link which will tell you more about gastritis.

hope this helps!

beans beans the magical fruit the more you get the shits and stop drinking

i have ileitis which affects the lower intestine, had it for over 40yrs monitor you diet, stay away from fried food, too leafy veggies. mine is permanant, not sure about yours...sorry

This is a temporary, curable ailment. If it comes on and you do not have medication, drink sugarwater and eat chocolates.

Avoid eating fatty foods or something which may be off.

During this condition, eat dry foods such a bread and avoid dairy products, as this would bring it on.

You can heal, but you will have to make changes in you diet. May I suggest Probiotics between meals and Digestive Enzymes with your meals.

I recently learned of the SCD diet (specific carbohydrate diet). This diet is described in detail in the book "Breaking The Vicious Cycle" Intestinal Health Through Diet, by Elaine Gottschall. The reason behind this diet is simple. It is supposed to starve the yeast in the stomach, by depriving it of fermentable carbohydrates.
