Do what your doctor tells you - a blood test may be negative but it may still be in your stomach and that is why he's doing the biopsy - don't listen to advice against your doctor here - follow medical advice from a doctor first... I have H pylori too, but need to get tested again to see if it's gone, remember it is the primary cause of ulcers and you already have one and it is of utmost importance to get rid of the virus to make certain to take care of the ulcer problem once and for all - best wishes - take your meds as prescribed too to get rid of it... Good luck...

A blood test can detect and diagnose h-plori, but the GI doctor did the endoscopy biopsy to see if it was cancer, most likely, or to see if there was ulcers. When they find that u are possitive for h-plori they give u a antibiotic. A blood test detects it and the antibiotics kill the Bacteria. Your ulcer is what is causing u the pain, I'm sure. Are u eating a fairly blan diet? It helps alot. Not eating high acid foods help to. Arn't u on any acid reducers? U should ask your Doctors more questions, or google it and learn more about it. Hope u get to be feeling better
