What are some signs of possibly having lung cancer?!

Question: i have a chronic cough, due to smoking i'm sure, but i was reading online that having blood in the stuff you cough up is one of the signs of lung cancer, and what i'm wanting to know is does this mean that if theres blood everytime you cough stuff up or if it doesnt matter how often it happens even if it just happens sometimes it can still be a sign of lung cancer if it happens at all. i've had a chronic cough for it seams like years, and i'm only 28, i know i need to stop smoking but its so hard, but i think finding out that i could be possibly be having sings of lung cancer could get me to stop smoking. i am constantly coughing all the time everyday and its really starting to scare me the more i read online about chronc coughing.

This is a sign of lung cancer yes but at your age i would expect you're more likely to be experencing something else. Through smoking you are constantly irritating the lining of the alveola (sacs) in the lungs so you've proabably damaged and exposed some small blood vessels. Also, your cough, no doubt caused by the smoking, can have the same affect and as it's been prolonged you may have burst some blood vessels because of the constant strain you're putting your lungs through. I'd suggest you see your doctor to have an x-ray to make sure there are no masses growing and also seek advice about giving up. Hope that helps.

don't be too paranoid about it, but WebMD is my go-to source for all health questions

Blood in your cough ups is a sign that something is not right even if only now and then go see a Doctor dont let fear of telling you smoke stop you even if you have something wrong it is possible to fix it ~~

Blood in phlem when you cough could also be a sign of pnuemonia and you could also have blood clots that have broken and traveled to your lungs-which can be fatal. Hopefully you have'nt coughed up blood if you have-I advise you to get it checked out. Take care.
