This is something that should have been explained to you when you were being treated, i understand that its a traumatic time tho and we dont always take in all the infomation we're told. Some chemo drugs can affect your ability to have children in the future but not all. There are different side effects for different ones so seek advice from your doctor and find out if this will have affected your chances. Even if you don't plan to have children just at the moment, it's worth getting all the infomation so you can work out what you can do now to increase your chances of a succesful conception when the time comes. Good luck!

Ask a doctor.

i dont kno

If you still get your period then you'll be fine. I'd be more worried about passing on a genetic tendency for leukemia.

Not...too.sure...ask...your...local..doc

Talk to your doctor and have them run some test on you before planning a child if you don't feel very sucure.
I think everything is fine if you still get your period but still talk to your doctor. Does cancer run in your family? Your children might get a passed on gene.....

yeah i would go ask a doctor, because you wouldnt want anything to happen to yourchildren

yes im sure you can still have kids but i still wouldn't because it's very likely that you kids would get the cancer passed on from genetics.
but ask your doctor.

As long as a doctor says you can.

This is definitely a question to ask your doctor. It depends on lots of factors that only your doctor who is familiar with your medical history and circumstances would be able to know and judge. You are only 21 and have a long life ahead of you. Good luck to you.

you should probably go see your doctor.. depending on how bad the cancer was and where it was and all of that could have an effect.. call or go in to see your doctor.. good luck!

you need to be tested....but usually chemo only patients have an easier time getting pregnant than radiation/chemo patients. (radiation kills almost everything...)

I don't think so, the treatment should have corrected the gene, so if you do have kids they should be normal, however there is a possibility that the cancer gene could be passed on to them, but I think its a very small possibility.

If you have regular periods then likely you are fine. But you should see a gynecologist and tell the doctor your concerns.

A boy that I went to school with had leukemia and now has a son. He cannot have anymore children because cancer came back in his prostrate, but he did help to create a child.

Yes, it may still be possible for you to have children. You should ask your doctor though before trying to get pregnant. You can check with an online site about young people, cancer treatments, and future fertility at Fertile Hope:
