I have insomnia. What can I do to get sleepy?!

Question: I take the kind of medication that I can't add sleeping pills.

Answers: I take the kind of medication that I can't add sleeping pills.

I've had insomnia for 40 years. You can read a list of things I've tried for sleep at http://www.fms-help.com/sleep.htm

Smoke weed. It always puts me to sleep.

i also have insomnia.
I like to play video games on my cell phone.
or even on the t.v.
also reading makes me sleepy.

Can you take Benadryl? That is what is in over the counter sleeping aids. I would check with your doctor before taking it though.

jus work alot and i mean alot, that will put u to sleep

have you tried a bedtime routine? (doing the same thing every night before bed)

i have problems winding down & now i do like 15 mins of stretches before bed...that really helps my physically de-stress & relax.

good luck :)

pot or alcohol. Warm milk. Tylenol PM. Benadryl allergy. Nyquill. i used to get insomnia and depression, smoke pot for both before i go to bed, sleep deeper, feel better. Or when you are trying to sleep turn the TV on so you can barely hear it and recite in your head word for word what you think they are saying. It knocks me smooth out in about 10 minutes. Sounds cheesy, but i had my boyfriend try and he was sawing logs w/i minutes. basically it just focus' your brain instead of jumping from one thing to the other.

Hot chocolate, warm milk, listen to soft music

Try taking Melatonin, it is natural and it really works. Its not a sleeping pill.
Also eat some protein like turkey or chicken on a piece of bread maybe with a glass of milk.
The turkey or milk contain tryptophan which will make you sleepy.

If you can take a natural sleep aid then I would try Melatonin, it won't knock you out or anything but it'll help you drift off.

Also I take a bath right before bed with lavendar body wash, like the kind you use on babies to relax them.

I hope this helps!

Call me, I'll tell you my childhood stories. that aught to do it.

Insomnia is often caused by fear, stress, anxiety, medications, herbs, caffeine, depression or sometimes for no apparent reason. Make sure your bedroom is quiet and dark. Soak a tablespoon of mint leaves in a cup of water for an hour, drink every night. Check out http://useinfo-insomnia.blogspot.com/ for more info
