I have acne, but my parents aren't supporting me...what do I do?!
Question: I ued to have horrible acne. Now, I discovered this site, where they gave me many directions and tips on how to get rid of it. Ever since I started this, my acne has improved drastically. But, everything I do, my parents think is hurting me, even though I'm not eating chocolate, and eating healthier than ever. So now, I have to do some of the things in secret, cause my parents seen like they're against me getting rid of acne. And heres an example. Next weeked i'm going away for three days, and at the beginning of the two week school break, I promised myself i'd be acne free by the start of school. I'm getting there, and tis going really good. But, then I talked to my mom, and asked her how I'm going to eat healthy while I'm away, cause if I don't i'll break out again, just in time for school. My mom told me, it won't matter, and that i just won't eat healthy for three days. SO what do I do, over the past two weeks, and even in the future, my parents don't want me to get rid of acne....

Sometimes parents can have the wrong attitude when it comes to helping their own children. I believe its their own personal issues that are caused by the way they were treated by their parents. Listen, do what you have to do to get rid of the acne. My parents once told me that I wouldn't graduate college and I did:-)
Maybe when you have your own kids you can break that cycle and learn from some of the mistakes your parents might be doing.
first of all i just want to congratulate you for the success so far, that's great!
my advice is to tell them that this is something that concerns you and they should respect that and support you for trying to improve your acne. bring food along with you if you can... and try to not splurge too much on stuff bad for you. explain to them you want to have clear skin and they just have to accept it
Well its hard for parents to see there kids change . Even if its for THERE own good. Try to explain if they don't get it its okay cuz its bennifiting you in the future . Treat them the same and keep your ego down low . not so low that you feel bad about your self but I think you know what I mean . good luck
wow, they sound jealous and like they really dont understand what an impact this has on self esteem. i also had acne bad growing up and still get a pimple here and there, but i started using proactiv and my skin was clear as a babys butt. after 2 yrs i thot it would be ok if i got off,its kinda expensive, and i still am ok. the only reason y i still get one or two is f i go to sleep with my makeup on by accident.

so I have really bad acne and i HATE IT!! like chopping off my face seems like a good solutions :] anyways.. umm
buy some face wash to add to that healthy diet of yours.. [oh and by the way.. congrats on pulling off the healthy diet.. i dont know if i could do it.. but good idea!!]
if you havent already talk to your parents about how much you really want this acne to go away..
if that works then convince your parents to bring you to a dermatolagist..
theyll probably try multiple things and eventually if none of those work.. may lead up to proscribing you acutain [amazing stuff from what i understand]
i no someone that has worse acne than me and after 4 months looks like a porcalin doll!! :] omg thats amazing!!
