My elbows are...?!

Question: i have ashy elbows! i have had them for a few years now or i just started to notice them a few years ago. i am 14 and i get my ashy elbows from my dad. i put lotion on them and the grey-ness goes away but my elbows are still dark. i have bronze skin so my elbows look almost black when i put lotion on them. my question is, how do i fix this? what can i do?

One thing you can do, and it may sound weird, is to put on some lemon juice on it. I read it in a book or a magazine somewhere (i don't remember where.) I had the same problem to, and I was about fourteen, and i rubbed some lemons on it and it worked.

(BTW, I don't know if I had ashy elbows or just extremely dry, all i know is that my elbow was gray, cracked, and it hurt, but after doing this for about two days, it got better)

that's nasty. maybe don't use so much lotion?

shei butter!

have your parents buy you some AMLactin. if it doesn't work, have them schedule an appointment with a doctor.

You need to scrub harder. It's probably just dirt.

i dont know but i am answering for the points. I think you just have to keep putting lotion on and eventually it will go away. I had the same problem and it seems to be working.

Just how elbows are... there is nothing you can really do... no one even notices that kind of stuff anyway

accept who u are

if ur dad has them, then u most likely cant get rid of them

What do you prefer ash or dark elbows?

exfoliate while you're in the shower and then put the lotion on before you go to sleep and when you wake up!

I think you should see a doctor. I have never heard of anything like this, and my mom is a nurse! It's probably normal because you got it from your dad. Accept who you are. Maybe you are having a reaction to the lotion you are using. Are you allergic to anything? Anything in the lotion? Mushrooms are a big issue these days. Good luck.

Use cocoa butter... it can be bought in lotion or a creme

omg same here but mines is really little. i use vaseline.

ask tyra banks she found a solution.

my elbows do that when i have a build-up of excess dead skin cells. I have psoriasis. scrub them, or try taking a lemon or grapefruit half and twist your elbow in it. the citric acid gets rid of that nasty stuff someimes and makes them softer.

mine are like this tooo .
idk how to fix it,sry.

lemons--try rubbing a half lemon (after squeezing it out for lemonaid) on your elbows. It will bleach the skin a little and the sugar will be moisturising.

I hope this helps!

Try every time you cream your face, hand, or anything cream your elbows. Also, so the darker color from lotion isnt noticeable...at night put on Vaseline or baby oil on your elbows...that's a great moisturizer.
