How can I have a swollen lymph node but feel perfectly fine?!

Question: I haven't been sick in almost 4 months. I feel perfectly fine. Some of my family had the flu recently but I never caught it. What could cause a swollen lump node in my armpit? It's painful to move my arm but not extremely painful. I am pretty sure there is countless of things. But usually when I have these, I am as sick as a dog. Anyone know what could cause this?

Lymph nodes swell when you have an infection or when your body is fighting to prevent an infection.

Just because you don't have any symptoms does not mean you do not have the infective organisms in your body.

If its still swollen and painful within a week you may need to see a doctor just in case it is enlarged for another reason.
