How can I find out if I have a tape/pin worm without tests from a doctor??!

Question: Well I eat a lot of candy and good homemade food my mom makes but I don't gain that much wait I'm only like 95 pounds.
How can I find out if I have a tape worm or pin worm without seeing a doctor. I don't want to get a test done if I actually have a reasonable explanation for why I think I should get a test.
Also... this is really embarrasing for me so please don't make fun of me... I sometimes have lava come out of me, but I don't know if it's something else or if it's from the worm.
IM SCARED PLEASE HELP! =[

Pinworms and tapeworms typically don't make you thin. They can cause malnutrition, though.

If you are seeing tiny sharp-pointed worms from your rectum at night, accompanied by intense itching, you may have pinworms. They come out of your rectum at night and lay eggs. Doesn't mean you're dirty, nasty, or careless. Anyone can get pinworms, especially from food-service workers who have pinworms and who don't wash their hands after defecating and wiping themselves. I've had pinworms several times.

Tapeworms are more serious. They can infest muscle, tissue, and organs and cause serious health problems. Tapeworm segments that come from your rectum are more rounded and don't have that pointy end. I have had a family member with a tapeworm (no, he wasn't thin).

You may want to do a search for pinworm and tapeworm images so you can compare. Fortunately, pinworms can be treated with a single dose of oral over-the-counter Pin-X. Unfortunately, they sometimes return as their eggs can be deposited on clothing and sheets for you to re-ingest.

In either case, your mother should know immediately. Often when one family member is infested, they all are.

For pin worms you can do a test with tape. Place it on the anus in the morning and pull it off. You will see egg sacs or worms if you do.
However for tape worms I think they break off in the stools.
Either way if you seen something in your stool or larva coming out you need treatment.
Make sure you wash all your bedding in HOT water.

your metabolism is probably high, not because you have a worm....

Yep, you got worms. I told you, so you don't need a doctor. You have larva coming out of you. End of Diagnosis.

You probably have lots of worms if larvae are coming out. Maybe there's a shortage in food supply? And your refusal to gain weight is a main indicator. Noone has "quick metabolism" and doesn't gain even some weight. Except you throw up or go to the loo a lot. Food doesn't getinto you and just disappear, except something is eating it up for you. Which again, is why I said that you have worms. And lots of them. One worm isn't too much of a problem.

I don't know if it's tape worm or pin worm or round worms or Ascaris. All I know is that you need a doctor. Get some worm expelling medication. You'll crap the little sons of b*tches out in no time. Peace.

Hi, I know you don't want to go to a doctor, but sometimes it's a good idea. I don't know your age, but annual check-ups are a good thing also. There are so many problems that can be handled easily if caught early and your doc needs to know what you are like when you are completely healthy with nothing wrong so if you come in not feeling well, your labs and state of being can be compared to your normally healthy state.

Okay, this is my suggestion. I think it's a good idea to go to your doc and be checked out. The test for parasites is simple and not as scarey as you may think. There is a good chance you can do it at home if you prefer. Doc's do this type of lab every day, so it's nothing unusual for them. They can also give you some good advice on how to put on healthy weight, if indeed you need to do so. It could be that you are young, growing, active, and have a high metabolism. But, you do say you have larva in your stool, and that will not go away without medical assistance. Please keep in mind that people who work in the medical field like to help you, and being able to help someone be well is a wonderful thing. Go make someone's day, go to your doctor, they can help.
