How long do you stay contagious after getting a cold virus?!
Question: I'm just curious because I caught a nasty bug and I don't want to give it to my co-workers. But I also want to go to work because I took my vacation last week. Should I just call in sick?

i would avoid going to work for at least 2 days!! you need the rest anyway and yes you do want to avoid passing it on to everyone else!! take a day or two off!!
A cold is not a virus, but there are germs that can be transferred to other people.
As long as you are coughing or sneezing, you are sending off your germs into the air.
It is a difficult call, because coughs usually last for weeks after getting a cold.
Obviously, you need to use *universal precautions when around other people.
* Universal precautions: Wash hands often, cover mouth when you cough and no sharing cups, kissing or hugging.
only doctors can categorize a common cold into virus or something else; but as is commonly said, if u take medicine it will b cured in ----a week---if u dont take medicine it will b cured in ---7 ----days. only take precautions not to mix up with ur lovedones to avoid infection.
