Question: I have a Six year old who has just recently been Diagnosed with RSD following a severe fracture to her foot/leg back in July. I have seen my normally Happy go lucky child who was active and playful go to being bedridden.

I'm so sorry that your 6 year old has RSD. Finding support groups, especially for children with RSD can be a challenge. Here are a few places that I have found for support groups for parents and children http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RSD...
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/rsd... I have had RSD since I was 13, following a knee surgery. I'm now 15 and still struggling with this condition waiting for to get into an experimental treatment program since all of the other treatments that I have tried have given me no relief or only temporary relief. A few places that you can go for more information are www.rsds.org www.rsdhope.org www.rsdfoundation.org
I would suggest getting her into a pediatric pain clinic/neurologist with experience in treating RSD and try to get her into some treatment. Her chances of recovery are high since she is so young, and the sooner you are able to start treatment the better her chances are of recovery. Good luck!

RSDS can be debilitating. Have you checked out WebMd - it has information and treatment options. Also, I would go to an internet support group to give you ideas on how to cope with this disease and to help her cope. Sometimes, people in support groups can give you better information than your doctor can.

Unfortunately, RSD does not care how young or old you are. Try this website www.rsd.org. You can search through yahoo, reflex sympathetic dystrophy and go from there.
