Although you should obviously change your toothbrush regularly, having a cold sore has nothing whatever to do with this.

The herpes virus only survives for a few seconds outside the body and so CANNOT reinfect you or infect someone else from your toothbrush, because the virus will be dead. Herpes is ONLY transmitted skin to skin.

Toss it after the sore is healed, or you'll just re-infect yourself.
