I had a collapsed lung August 2007 and I'm still getting pains, how long bef!

Question: My lung collapsed and i ended up having 5 chest drains and then talced. I was given all clear in October but im still getting pains in same area and im quite paranoid now. Ive been back to A&E twice and have had Xrays and all clear. Can anyone tell me if they have had the same experience and when did all the pain and niggles stop.

I have had my right lung collapse several times and I ended up having surgery on it 4 years ago. I will still get the occaisional ache and at times it can be a sharp stabbing pain but as time goes on, they get less frequent. There is a site you might find interesting: http://www.blebdisease.com/.

There are a lot of people on there that have gone through the same thing. I have learned so much on there.

Any chest wound is going to hurt for a really long time. I broke my rib and it took about 7 months for the pain to actually go away. I still get pain if I push in that area and it has been almost 2 years. If the doctors say you are ok, you should be ok.

u really need to call ur doctor and let him know that u r still having complications bc everyone's situation is different. Are u still taking medication? At least call his nurse and explain ur discomfort and let them suggest what u should do...it could be serious. Good Luck!
