You might have sports induced asthma. Most likely though your lungs are just not used to the running. They will get used to it. If you feel as though your airways are CUT OFF then you might have asthma. I personally think inhalers are overly prescribed and if you do get an inhaler USE A SPACER. It will increase the amount of medicine you are getting my 80% !!!! Therefore, it will last longer (in your lungs) Good luck.

I really dont know because its hard to tell. If you loose your breath you probably ran tooo much its a possibilty cuz my brother has astma check your mother and the doc.!

It could be exercise induced asthma, it could be that your a bit out of shape and your body is not use to the exercise. If it continues than let your parent or guardian know and see a physician.

sounds suspicious. see a specialist. you should have a pulmonary function test & a test for exhaled nitric oxide. if these are anything but normal, the you should have a lung volume study, an exercise challenge and a methacholine challenge before a definitive diagnosis can be made.

What you're experiencing can be caused by many things, not just asthma. Are you out of shape? If you are, it could be due to that, and you need to build up your endurance.

Do you have a heart condition? A lot of people don't understand that a heart condition can make you short of breath just like a lung condition.

Do you have asthma? Maybe. Does it run in your family? Does your chest feel tight? Do you wheeze? Do you get short of breath often?

Could be other problems. Do you smoke? Do you eat a lot of fast food? Do you drink? All these can decrease your endurance.

If you are worried about asthma, you need to see a doctor. He will listen to your lungs for wheezing, do a chest xray, check your SpO2 (oxygen level in your blood) and maybe do a PFT (pulmonary function test), which is a test to see how efficient your lungs are. (Sometimes, a PFT isn't necessary for a physician to diagnose you with asthma) If he thinks you have asthma, he will prescribe you an inhaler or a nebulizer that contains respiratory medicine to help open up your lungs.

Either way, if you think it is a concern, see a physician. If you are posting a question on yahoo about this, then it seems you are intelligent enough to know whether or not you need to see a physician.
