Is there anyon here who thinks that vaccines are good and healthy?!

Question: I dont think that to many people know the truth about vaccines,

Answers: I dont think that to many people know the truth about vaccines,

You're right, sasha. Not many people know the truth about vaccines, but the numbers are growing. I refuse to get vaccinated, and I'm not going to have anyone I care about get it either like someone said above.

Mercury, aluminum, formaldehyde, antifreeze, phenol, glutaradelhyde, animal cells and a whole lot of other chemicals and carcinogens are something I'm not putting in me. The ppb (parts per billion) levels of toxic chemicals are higher than the ppb levels of hazardous waste the EPA states. And they just keep sticking kids and pregnant women!

You know, I heard that people who get the flu shot every year have a tenfold increased risk of Alzheimer's?

I think it's outrageous what the Big Pharma is doing to people and innocent children. And they won't even own up. Yeah right they care about people's health. They care about your money...

I sure don't! I would never have anyone that I care about vaccinated.

I refuse to.

their is so much more good than harm in them. Many diseases that killed hundreds of thousands have been cured with vaccines. Without vaccinations they could return.

Young people today have not lived through and real health crisis. Thanks to vaccines we have been able to minimize or even eliminate these diseases. I too have become cynical about the need to inject a weakened virus into my body but history has proven that these vaccinations have worked. You might want to do a little research on the prevalence of diseases before vaccines became common place.

Obviously vaccinations have saved many lives, but I am not in favor of vaccinating indiscriminately. Prime example are flu shots.
Most people I talked to get sick from them.
We are much better nourished to day compared to when these diseases had to be stopped with vaccinations.

I actually do like vaccines -- they protect us from diseases that otherwise would kill or disfigure. If not for vaccination we would still get polio and smallpox in huge numbers. There was an article a couple years ago about the push to eliminate smallpox -- the vaccination plan was fascinating and it worked.

I do agree that varicella vaccination is not always necessary; the reason we give it is not for the child but to prevent those in the population with weakened immune systems -- the chronically ill or elderly (this is called herd immunity - the majority is vaccinated to protect those who either are not or cannot be).

The HIB vaccine which is given to babies, protects against a disease that has a high fatality - and poor treatment options. So would you choose to take the risk for your child or give them a vaccination that could protect them from death.

Finally, for the poster who said that babies get the antibodies from breast milk - yes that is true but as soon as they are no longer nursing, the antibodies are gone (it is passive immunity - their immune system doesn't learn how to fight the disease). So unless you are going to breast feed all their lives, it doesn't work that way.

And there is no connection between Alz and flu shots -- the only connection is that the elderly are recommended to get flu shots (because influenza can kill old people) and only old people get Alz. That's your only connection .

They help far more people then they hurt and save many lives. Remember, 8 out of 10 deaths are caused by a pathogen that could be prevented by a vaccine, so its your call as to whether they are safe, needed or necessary.

Yes, there are those here who think that vaccines are good, but I'm not one. I've run into many at YA! who advise to get them though.

We used to, but then learned the ugly truth the hard way - when our fully vaccinated daughter caught whooping cough. And, it wasn't milder as vaccinated people are supposed to get. It was dreadful, near deadly and lasted MONTHS. There was a local outbreak and only VACCINATED people were getting it, not the unvaccinated - including the unvaccinated baby in our own household while her sister had whooping cough. That started us on a learning spree that ended with a full stop to all vaccinations for our children.

We bought Neil Z. Miller's "Vaccines: Are They Really Safe and Effective" and learned some interesting facts about efficacy, dangers and hype from the vaccine industry. Neil was a medical research journalist who started his own quest to find the truth about vaccines to make the decision for his own children. His decision was to not vaccinate. The book is very well footnoted with lots of professional journal, government and medical document references.

Many people think that it is because this generation is younger that we don't realize the benefits of vaccination. But, reality is that most of the diseases were actually in decline due to proper hygiene before the vaccination was ever released. Vaccinations have caused harm and injury to many millions across the globe. We know some personally who have suffered because of vaccination.

The truth about vaccines can be found in many places now, thankfully. It wasn't so easy to find when our children were young. Here are some good resources:

Also look at the FDA's VAERS - the vaccine adverse reaction reports. They are online and HUGE documents recording the adverse reactions to vaccinations that have been reported yearly. http://www.fda.gov/Cber/vaers/vaers.htm

There's so much more, but since you weren't asking for evidence against, I just hit the highlights.
