How can I tell if I am allergic to cats? And can you suddenly become allergic to!
Question: I've been around cats all my life and i've never been allergic to cats. And just in the past month, i've noticed im sneezing alot, and I have a bit of a runny nose, and a little bit of an itchy throat.
Im not allergic to anything... so is it possible to suddenly become allergic to something (like cats), even though you've lived around it your whole life?

Yes, it is possible, i had the same case. Used to love cats, and be around them 24/7, when i moved to Ontario(used to live in Nunavut), i started getting a runny nose and watery eyes around cats and also other stuff(fresh cut grass, flowers..) . To know if your really allergic to cats, you could go to your doctor, and ask to get your allergies checked. What they did to me was , scratches in my back, and then they had liquid samples of everything(they asked me questions before) and, after 20 minutes, the spots that were puffed up, were the things i was allergic to. you can go to an allergy doctor and test yourself if u have an allergie to cats.
It sounds weird but yes you can. Most of the time when you are allergic to an animal...your allergic to their saliva and not them. Although it could be anything. If it keeps up go see your doctor and ask to to be referred to an Allergist.
It could be a cold.
think has the weather been windy if it has that means a lot of dust in the air which can cause all those symtons

There's a saying here in Texas. If you don't have allergies stick around a bit and you will! I had no real allergies when I came here 8 years ago - I can't say that today! So I guess the saying is true, at least for me. The point? Yes, you can develope allergies.

and hey try this.. pet a cat...then rub ur eyes.. if they get really red..and itchy...and poofy...yea ur allergic..
