Can an orange slice get into my lungs?!

Question: So, I was laughing while I was putting an orange slice in my mouth. While my original plan was to put the orange slice in my stomach (It was the size of your average Navel Orange slice, whatever that may be for you), I kind of choked on it momentarily, and it made this funny kind of noise, like if you fill your cheek with air and kind of squirt it out.

Anyway, 2-3 days later I'm coughing, have a stuffed nose, and feel not so great. When I cough my chest hurts a little, but I've had this before, and it was declared okay by my doctor. But, he didn't say it'd come back if I ate an orange, so, I don't know.

I know I could get Pneumonia if stuff gets into my lungs, but, is it possible (and if so, is it likely) that an orange slice would go into my lungs, thus giving me pnuemonia? If so, how would one get rid of this (I plan on seeing a doctor, but, curious how this is treated... the orange slice and all)?

I have no trouble breathing that I know of. And my swallowing is fine.

Once my brother got a respiratory infection because he stuck a pea up his nose. And it stuck for 5 days. I tell that because it's funny and he's 16 now. Not because it has any relevance.

Truth is, you would have choked before a orange slice could go through your trachea. You probably have a cold. It's January.

No, this is not at all possible. You probably coincidentally have an upper respiratory infection.

well, maybe try drinking some water then hang upside down and cough and see if it comes out?
