Does anybody know of any home remedies for a severe cold or flu?!

Question: My daughter had the flu a few weeks ago and the doctor said just to wait it out because it needed to come out of her system by itself. Well she's all better but now i'm sick. I'm not sure if i have just a cold or if i have the flu. Does anybody know of any home remedies for this?

In the tropical island where I spent a few years, the common home treatment was a mixture of rhum, lime juice, sugar cane syrup, one clover.

Vitamin C, its water soluble, whatever your body doesnt use it comes out in your urine, you cant OD on vitamin C.Tussin is safe for kids also.

Take a shot of Tequilla or Jager. You should have just gone out drinking with your favorite on New Years! You wouldn't be in this mess right now. Hope you feel better favorite :) bless you......... (i heard you sneeze)

vitamin c, whats wrong taking meds like tylenol flu its good.

Yes as a person in the medical Profession I suggest you take a very good effective remedy called "Tylonel severe Cold& Flu" I prefer you get the nighttime one it works very good. But if you prefer the non drowsy type get the daytime one.

Think about this: Tylenol Cold & Flu Severe Daytime with Cool Burst? gives you all the multi-symptom relief of DayQuil?-plus an instant cooling sensation you'll feel right away.

You get:
A maximum strength pain reliever/fever reducer for pain, fever, and sore throat.
A powerful cough suppressant.
A decongestant for nasal congestion.

Uses
Temporarily relieves these cold and flu symptoms:
Body aches (minor aches and pains).
Headaches.
Cough.
Nasal congestion.
Sore throat.
Runny nose.
Sneezing.
Temporarily reduces fever.

I would take some homely remedies initially, a simple linctus with some hot water in (more soothing and effective,) and some paracetamol. Drink plenty of fluids and rest.
There are plenty of over the counter remedies promising you all sorts, but costly. Any vit, c product

Simple.

And if your symptoms persist see a doctor.
some answers on here sound like reps. Lol
