are you eating healthier/less greasy foods? showering/washing your face more? sleeping on a clean pillow rather than a dirty one? showering after the gym? these can all be contributing factors to healthier skin, acne medication doesnt usually do a whole lot. it could also just be a hormonal change as you are getting older.

your face was irritated w/ all the meds

The subscription might have been irritating your skin and causing excess oil. If your face is clear without it, stay off of it. If the acne comes back while you're off of the subscription, tell your doctor all about it and get something else. Proactive works wonders if you haven't tried that.

Im guessing just reacting strangely to whatever was in the medicine he gave you. The only thing acne really needs to go away is a clean face. Just wash it with warm water and a face cloth and you'll be fine.

You're body must be going through hormonal changes. Your diet has changed ? Drinking more water ?
Less stress in your life ?
I've actually seen women with peaches and cream skin get pregnant and end up with gestational acne. Look at how you're living, eating, sleeping excercising or like you said the commercial facial products. Take inventory of your life.

Different acne treatments work differently for different people ;-)
And your acne could be hormonal...
