your question reminds me of the classic "how many licks does it take to get to the center of a whatever pop." There is no exact number, but it doesn't take that many to get you hocked for good and screw your life. let me tell you a story about my mothers side grandparents. my grandpa died, thanks to all the smocking he did throughout his life. my grandma got some bad lung disease from many years of smocking (i don't know exactly what it is,) and it stoped her from being able to breath. she managed to recover from this after much, much therapy but i don't think she will last much longer (i am 13 so don't think she is 1,000 years old.)

Now, you may be wondering why i told you that. you need to stop your father from getting a full addiction to smocking because, well, it kills good people, as you now know. if it helps, print out the story i typed out to try to get him to come to the light, but you really need to help him out. good luck.

ps. he will never just decide that he is ready, because let me tell you, that last cigarette is better than sex, and i am sure he will agree with that after he had about 1,000 of them. save him well you can.

sorry honey but you can't control other people. you're just going to have to accept what you can't change. your father knows smoking is bad for him. he will have to make the difficult decision to quit on his own.

but...if there were any information to make someone kick the habit, it'd have to be this video

Only one is needed.
