What is the best way to get rid of a migrane? Please answer!!!?!

Question: But i dont want to take drugs.

Answers: But i dont want to take drugs.

You may not be able to get rid of a migraine without drugs, but things you can do to help minimize effects:

* Lie down in a dark room and try to sleep
* Minimize noise
* Use a damp washcloth on your forehead during hot spells
* Use a heating pad on the shoulders and neck when you feel tightness and you are not experiencing any hot sensations
* Massage your scalp, face, and shoulders
* Learn to identify any foods that trigger the headaches and avoid them. Common ones are: alcohol, msg, excess sugar
* perform stretches of the major muscle groups when you feel a migraine starting to develop - it releases endorphins that can reduce the severity and duration of the migraine

I get them all of the time but I have yet to find anything to get rid of them but if you lie down in a very dark room it seems to help some. Sorry I could help more but thought this may help

Not sure if that will work. I have to take powerful doses of Motrin to get rid of Migraines. Hot shower will dull the pain some, but the longer I have one, the stronger it gets until I want to tear off my head.

I suggest the drugs.

All or any of the following will help:

1. Two soluble aspirin followed immediately by
2. Cup of black coffee
3. Lie down in a quiet, cool, darkened room.
4. Ideally have someone else do this; otherwise
do it yourself while resting - apply a pressure
pinch to the fleshy area between your thumb and
forefinger on one hand. You can use the thumb
and forefinger of your other hand to do it; but
it's better if someone else does it because you'll
find that you drift off to sleep quite quickly. The
fleshy area that I mean is just above the apex of
where your thumb and first finger join the hand.
5. Another place that you can have someone apply
pressure is at the base of the skull - they need to
hold that part of your neck firmly and maintain the
pressure for a while.
6. Whenever you rouse; make sure you have
water to sip - stay as well hydrated as you can.

Hope it goes away soon :(

Well, I don't know of any natural cures, that's for sure. I get migraines and I had previously tried everything I could think of that was over the counter to relieve the pain but to no avail. Then a friend suggested that I try excedrin migraine and I took two the next time I was I had a migraine. No one was more surprised than me when it actually relieved the pain within 15 min..! This is simply a mixture of acetaminophen (tylenol), asprin and caffeine. Caffeine is known to relieve headaches when combined with pain relievers! Good luck and I hope this helped you.

Get a cool wash cloth put it on your head and go into a quiet, pitch black room and try to relax. If you can try to take a nap.

A can of Jolt cola for the caffeine to help alleviate it, then lying down in a dark room with absolutely no light or sound. Any light or sound when a migraine kicks in and I throw up. Not pretty.

Excedrin Migraine over the counter is a huge help...you really consider it a drug? It's actually got caffeine in it, to help take the edge off of the migraine, it does work, and you don't have to see a doctor to get it.

the best way with out drugs is drink a cup of tea with 2 sugars and have a sleep
also eat some fruit
