Sinus problems?!

Question: For about a week, I've been having sinus problems. My throat has been sore and my nose has been stuffy off and on. Sometimes I get pressure in my sinsuses (feels kind of like someone is pressing on my face). I don't have sinus problems very often...what can I do to feel better? The symptoms don't seem bad enough to go to the doctor.

Don't wait until it becomes bad. Bacteria love a warm wet environment in which to breed and your sinus' fit the bill just right. If the problem has been going on for a week or more then it is time to have a doctor intervene. In addition to the pressure that you are feeling, are you having any drainage that you are aware of? If you do, make note of it and the color so that you will have that information at hand when discussing it with the doctor. It is possible that you may have the beginning of a full blown sinus infection and may need to have a full course of antibiotics in order to feel better. I would also suggest that you gaggle with salt water (one teaspoon salt and eight oz. warm water) to help with the discomfort in your throat as it soothes the tissues and dries out the bacteria. I hope that you feel better soon.

Long but well worth the reading.
