Strange Blood Flow. Blue/Red Hands.?!

Question: I've had this strange, weird little problem for a few years now and always wondered what the heck it was. I've seen other people have it so that means it's fairly common and not rare. Also nothing serious or painful happens, only the strange discoloration under certain circumstances.

Ok let me explain more. This only happens when I'm very cold, nervous or uncomfortable. And sometimes even on a warm, sunny day. When they are cold the top of my hands show what faintly looks like a thick spidery web. That is usually a combination of blue and purple. But not heavily so, it can also quickly go away if they're warmed. And sometimes when they are warm, the palm side of my hand will look like they have faint little red circles. But again it's barely visible and happens rarely. One time I actually managed to ask a doctor about this and he just said something about my body being confused with temperatures. One thing I am sure is that this defiantly has something to do with blood circulation.

Its diminished circulation to your hands. When you're cold, the blood needs to stay centered toward your core rather than the extremities. Stress when you're nervous or uncomfortable is absolutely normal and cold fingers as a result is natural. You're lungs have nothing to do with the problem unless this discoloration is located toward proximal areas of your body. Its not serious so dont worry.

Maybe Raynaud's syndrome...or a heart or lung condition...??

Diabetes can give you red palms, but not usually blue, but maybe if the blood sugar fluctuated wildly?

Thyroid disorders affect body heat, but usually run hot (hyperthyroidism ) or cold (hypothyroidism) ...not both.

I think I would go to a rheumatologist physician ...it sounds like some sort of auto-immune disorder...if not heart or lungs..
