Why do your fingers go all wrinkly after you have been in water for a long time?!

Question: Just wondering ^^ :)

Answers: Just wondering ^^ :)

It has nothing to do with your skin stretching. It has to do with the osmotic pull between the water in the tub and the water in your body. The sodium in your skin pulls the water in. Water follows salt. That's why if you eat a lot of sodium, you retain water.

The reason is that your skin stretches. Think of a piece of clothing in the laundry when it is wet. The same thing happens as it dries. Your skin stretches when it is wet and causes wrinkles, then as it dries, it shrinks.
