A very large amount of Americans are allergic to nickel. Look for earrings that say "nickel free" on them and see if that helps. Also try sterling silver earrings, or real gold/silver earrings.

Im not sure why your backs are getting stuck in your ears. That used to happen to me when I was a kid. I think I was just pressing them to hard when I put them on. You might want to ask a professional piercer about that though.

Wear expensive earrings. Sometime the cheap metals do weird things to your skin. Stop wearing earrings for awhile, alcohol the holes every day, and after 2 weeks try some more expensive earrings.

Don't wear them...........

After they heal a bit, try 14 or 18 karat gold. That should not give you any problem.

Try different kinds of metal. Certain kinds can cause allergic reactions.
Try to specifically avoid Nickel Earrings, usually purchased very inexpensively.
Stick to earrings of surgical stainless steal, 24k gold, and sterling silver.
(If you still have the ones they gave you when you first got them pierced, try wearing them. They are probably hypoallergenic.)
Also, make sure you regularly clean the holes.

the other suggestions about earring types are good. My sister has to wash her ears and earrings with hydrogen peroxide before she puts in the earrings or her ears get infected. Could help you too.

Buy you some earrings that have sterling silver backs or gold . More than likely you are allergic to cheap earrings . I have the same problem. I don't wear them that ofter and most of the time when I do wear them I will dip the backs in alcohol before and after use. Even when I wear expensive they seem to always get a knot in them where earring hole is. But if I wear cheap ones they go to itching within min. of me putting them on and I have to immediately take them out.

You could be allergic to nickel (the type of metal used). I have that allergy. Other things that are nickel are belt buckles, watch fastenings, bra hooks - to these irritate you if you leave them directly on your skin?
Try either a high carat gold, silver, or steel.

I'm the same. i can't wear silver earings since i was little. if it's silver then it has to be real silver..take them out and clean it. go buy yourself some good earings from a jewelry shop and ask them before you buy it. hope i could help you..

Good luck!
