Answers: I think orange b's is correct!!!!

.......ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

this is what a professor of mine told our class - not sure if it's true but i can't imagine that he'd lie to us.

he said that when men used to get it, it would be hard & hurt when men would pee. they'd stand at the urinal with their hand on the wall and then out of pain they'd clap their hands together once (like they're praying) and be like "please just let me use the bathroom"
lol like i said not sure how accurate it is.

No one knows for sure.

Probably the most likely is from the French word "clapior" which means a (pus filled) bubo or infection; and the related French word "clapier" which means both a brothel and also a rabbit warren.

There is a long history of naming STDs after neighboring nationalities. For example, English people used to call syphilis the "French disease", and French people used to call it the "English disease".

this hurts so bad you have not experienced pain until you hve had this its like peeing broken glass

Cause everyone claps for the clap..... Whoo hoo! Its the clap....

Someone once told me that back in the day, it was called The Clap because to try to get the pus and infection out of your penis, they clapped two wooden boards hard on either side of it. I am not convinced this is true at all (since the person who told me was an idiot) but it certainly is a horrible mental image.
