If you talk about the cause and prevention of a disease is transmission included!

Question: E.g. With malaria - it is caused by a protozoan Plasmodium which is transmitted by the female Anopheles mosquito - is this part relevant?

yes very relevent because it talks about how animals and people get it (cause)

The way a disease is transmitted is certainly a part of any discussion. Without the transmission there is nothing to be taking about. If the mosquito doesn't infect someone with the protozoan what disease exists?? None.
