sudaffed (spelling??)

Vitamin C (lots of oranges).

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
Lots of fluids
Tea with lemon and honey
Also, Advil Cold is good...it always works for me!

airborne, you can buy it at target and other stores. It comes in a capsule and you dissolve it in water. works like a charm!

Dayquil or NyQuil

vitamin c will often shorten the duration of a cold.....and i take tylenol cold and sinus. it's good stuff.

over the counter medicationsto relieve stuffy noses and sore throats. eat chicken noodle soup and drink plenty of fluids. there is many types of medications to take. maybe ask your pharmacist to help you decide which one to get for the symptoms you are having!!!

I always get a cold.... I have one right now.. I know for a fact that medicines for colds only help with the symptoms of a cold but a cold never goes away with medicine... you'll have a cold for a good week, maybe 2... try using Vix, (chest rub) especially when you go to bed, it helps open up your nose and breathe better...if you have a cough or sore throught try warm tea with honey or cough drops or throat spray! all of these things help me but a cold doesn't go aways with medicine!!! hope this helps!

if it is home made treatment u are looking for.....
Plenty of bed rest
drink honey every time your throat hurts
Gargle a mixture of warm water and salt before going 2 bed

The best thing is good old tea. And it is important to stay dry.

1--in morning lemongrass with lime tea.
2--midday homemade chicken and vegetables soup
3--drink a 2 liter of orange during the day (natural juice 100%)
4--drink some lime/cinnamon/honey tea at nite.

As the people said before, the Vitamin C, honey and other treatments helps enhance immune function, hence its importance, I recommend to turn on a hot steam shower and just sit in the bathroom, the steam would help the phelgm (mucus) become more fluid and easier to eliminate.

Also recommend Panadol cold and flu, get the type without caffeine (a stimulant which won't let you go to sleep).

Since there is mucus, I recommend you go to your doctor to take a swab of the area (a sample) to analyze it in the lab, this is to check if this is bacterial or viral. The earlier you go to the doctor, the better.

If bacterial, obviously the doctor would prescribe anti-bacterials, if virus infection, there is no anti-viral drugs (they mutate too much) and would prescribe anti-inflammatory and beta agonists (to open airways) and manybe an anti-tussive (to stop coughing if too much).

Get well soon

Lotsa vitamin C, lotsa water to flush things out, ginger tea made with real sliced ginger and hot water.

Cold medicines ( Sudafed, Actifed, Dimetapp ) are really just more concentrated and expensive formulation of the same type of drugs that are available over the counter. Is it worth a trip to the doctor just for that? Dosage: Try the recommended dosage. If you feel no effect, you may increase the dosage by one half. Don't exceed twice the recommended dosage.Increasing the dosage gives some chance of increased beneficial effects, but it guarantees a greater probability of side effects. The most frequent side effects of cold tablets are either drowsiness or agitation. The drowsiness is usually caused by the antihistamine component, and the insomnia or agitation results from the decongestant component. To relieve some symptoms of colds.Coricdin, Actifed, Triaminic, Contac, Dimetapp. Surprisingly, many give satisfactory symptomatic relief. And good luck.
