Dried clotted blood inside me..please help?!

Question: Question about bleeding internally when one has internal bleeding from lacerated spleen/liver from car wreck,?
when does the blood which filled the abdominal cavity and apparently has now clotted get reabsorbed.

They said it irritates the abdominal area this blood that is not supposed to be there.

I went into shock 9 days after wreck when it was found to be bleeding and lacerated inside. It has been 5 weeks since the wreck and about 3 1/2 to 4 weeks since the bleeding was found.

An ER doctor (rushed and rude and uninterested) told me it would not be causing my stomach pains that are in several areas...around the breastbone and top of abdomen, in the area just above the navel and in the low area just above groin..this stomach ache type feelings has bothered me nearly the whole time since the wreck..I never had stomach problems before in my life.

Then a trauma nurse practitioner at the followup appointment at the hospital trauma clinic said this clotted blood will continue to irritate for another 2 months,.

who is right..will this remaining clotted blood still irritate my abdominal cavity

Wow, thank God you are alive eh? I am a registered nurse and the clotted blood could indeed cause minor pain. It varies how long it will take YOUR body to heal itself completely since everyone is different. Hang in there. If this persists for another 2 weeks, I suggest seeing a gastrointestinal Dr. HE will be able to inform you of any problems. Actually, now that I think about it, give one a call tomorrow or today if it's early enough where you are. Find out right away to save you some peice of mind.

Good luck! :)
