Question about blood sugar?!
Question: My doctor said my blood sugar was high? She said it was 5 ? But im looking around here and maybe she meant 50 . Is that high?

a normal blood sugar is between 4 -7.
better ask you dr again cause neither 5 nor 50 is high for blood sugar. maybe she checked HgA1C which is a marker for 3months of your blood sugar readings. but 5 isnt high for that number either.
50 is pretty low.. when waking up in the morning after not eating since last nights supper your blood sugar should be between 80 and 100.. it all depends on what time of day and what you have had to eat when your levels were checked... anything from 80 to 150 is normal, still depending on if you have ate
I don't know what scale she was referring to but 500 on my meter is very high and 5 would be very low. They want diabetics to have A1C level of about 5 or 6. test your blood sugar and if it is over 120 two hours after eating then it needs work.
No one can live with a bood sugar of 5. A blood sugar of 50 is not high, 50 is low. I would call my doctor and verify the number and also request some patient information on blood sugar numbers.
