Red dry skin around nose - had it for years?!

Question: at the bottom of my nose around around the nostrils and sides the skin is very red and raw looking. I developed it when I was about 7 (I'm not 18) and I moisturise it all the time but it's never gone. If I don't moisturise it it's goes hard and flakes off.

Any way of getting rid of this or am I stuck with it for life?

I have the same thing - it's psoriasis, or possibly excema. Buy some hydrocortisone cream (at any drug store) and use it twice a day. That should clear it up! Hydrocortisone is basically a very concentrated moisturizer, so you don't want to use it all over your skin, just on the affected area. It should work in a few days. When the redness comes back, start using the cream again. Psoriasis and excema are skin conditions and can't be cured.

If it doesn't work, go see your dr. He should be able to prescribe something stronger. My friend has to use a prescription strength version because the regular over-the-counter stuff doesn't work for her.

i have the exact same thing, i have not idea what it is, i have had it synce i was like 8

it might be ur birthmark
u will have it forever if its ur birthmark

I had the same thing and when to see a Dr and he gave me a cream and it fixed the problem

Might be rosacea, or super super dry skin. Exema or something like that. If strong creams aren't working, ask the dermatologist what it is. Try something called Vani-cream, works great for exema.
