Why do carrots and watermelon make my tongue feel itchy and tingly?!

Question: Every time I eat a carrot or a part of watermelon, my tongue feels really itchy and tingly and weird and like I have to itch it with my top teeth. It's not like an EXTREME itch where I can't stand it, just a little tingle itch, if that makes any sense.
At first I thought it was all just in my head, and nobody I know has had the same experience with itchy tongues from carrots OR watermelon, except for my sister, so does that mean it runs in the family, although my parents both have never heard of it?

Do you know why?
Do you know anyone who has the same condition?
Is it an allergic reaction?

And no, I don't have any piercings or anything on my tongue, and it's been like this my whole life, or for as long as I can remember. And my Mom has even told me I used to complain about it my whole life, but she thought it would just go away, and it hasnt!

If anyone has any idea's as to why I would love your feedback! Also, if you know how to make those feelings go away, that would be great too!

My sisters have these problems. One with pineapples, the other with strawberries.Must be something in the fruits and veggies. Sometimes it's not the fruits and veggies at all but the chemicals they spray on them to keep them from rotting quickly or to keep pests away. Washing them in a fruit and veggie cleaner works better than water. If it still isn't helping see an allergist.

It could be an allergic reaction. The best way to find out is to make an appointment with your doctor and see about getting an allergy test, that will be able to tell you if it really is a reaction and what other foods you should keep away from to avoid a cross reaction.
The best way to make the feeling go away, is to not eat those foods till you can see if you really are allergic. If this has happened since you were little, even if it is an allergy, than chances are it's not going to get really bad straight away. But since it seems to be bother some, I would just try to avoid the foods that do that to you. And if any other foods start to do that, tell your doctor right away.
Just keep an eye on your symptoms, and what foods give you those symptoms.

Hope that helps!?
