Catching chlamydia?!

Question: Last month Dec 7th I found out I had chlamydia. I immediately told my husband whom I assumed passed it on to me being that he has been my only sex partner since September 2005. Here is where it gets tricky, he is in the military and once I told him on Dec 11th, he got tested for it. For whatever reason, he didnt get the results back until today Jan 4th, 08 and strangely enough, his test results came back negative... How in the world is that possible? We have been having unprotected sex for almost 2 years now and I catch it, he doesnt. Is it possible that when he got the test on his ship and it was transported to a hospital off the ship, there could have been an error? The diliema is how did i get affected and he didnt after all this time.. Im really confused...

With "your boo" answer to your question: it sounds like her doctor is placating her seriously.
Chlamydia is a bacterical disease and usually when you are test/treated for it doctor's will tell you to contact the people you have been sexually active with from 3-6 months ago. Not two years ago...
Chlamydia has been also known to clear up on it's own. Mind you, I don't condone this and not getting treated. If you have it, you should be treated. The chlamydia could have easily run it's course through him OR he might have gotten sick at some point (like with a cold/infection) and the doctor's prescribed him antibotics, which knock Chlamydia out of your system.
You could maybe have a false-positive, yet it depends on your testing. If you had NAAT testing, like PCR-DNA, then it's conclusive - those tests have a 95% accuracy unlike the old tests which have a 60-80% accuracy.

All in all, it sounds like you got it from your husband. Yet, you should discuss this more with your doctor. From what I have read, only 1-2% of women still carry Chlamydia at the four year mark if left untreated. So... this is really your call.

well are u sure that u haven't slept with any one else. u have to be honest. there could be an error but not likely.

Sounds like he already got treated. Men normally go undetected with no symptoms.

He would have HAD to have it to pass to you. He may have been treated (doxcycycline) and cleared it. Also, its diagnosed clinically in men with a urine test which can be falsely negative. Also, 50% of men are asymptomatic.

It can happen. I just found out a couple of weeks ago the same thing and when my boyfriend got tested he was neg. He is the only person I have slept with in almost 2 years and the doctor told me i could of been a carrier for years and not have known it and just cause we are haveing unprotected sex doesn't mean he would get it. Guys are almost prone to this std. Its way more common in women. It doesn't mean you cheated and he needs to be aware of that. Its complicated since its a silent std and there is no way to tell who gave it to who and when you got it. Its something you should talk about and try and put behind you. Best of Luck to you!
