What is it like to have cancer? I know it's terrible, but what's it real!

Question: A lot of people around me have had cancer, and I guess I don't know how bad they've suffered. They all died in the end, and I really want to know from some of you cancer-survivers out there!

I recently had prostate surgery and was told the cancer is now terminal since it spread. Thanks to the Doctor that used a 3 1/2 month old scan to do his cutting. The physical pain is almost unbearable at times. I have total loss of bladder control. Mentally I'm shot. My life was ruined by a Doctor that was interested in gaining experience. This was done by a VA Hospital.

i've never had cancer but i imagine it's a lot of pain, constant pain. gawd i hope i never get it!

I recently loss my brother in law to brain cancer. He dies 2 years after he was diagnosed and 3 surgeries. its a devistating and dabilitating desease and no one should ever have to go through it. Go to the cancer.org website and read all about it. YOu can read the boards about real people with the illness and what they are going through.

i am a healthy women that has never had any dieses s it cants really help you

My dad died of cancer at the age of 62 (almost one year ago) He had bone cancer and all his bones started to break. It was so unbelievable what our family went through. He couldn't walk at the end stages, couldn't go to the bathroom so we had to change his "diapers". He lived with this disease for almost 10 years. Poor man, he was such a good guy, he would do anything for anybody. It is the most debilitating thing to go through. OK. I'm starting to cry now. gotta go.

I hope you never have to experience a loved one going through this.

my 17 year old son has bone cancer. thank god, he has had no pain he, lost his leg. now a days if u have cancer and you are in hospital they wouldn't let you go on with lots of pain the usually give u pain med.

It's scary. And there are a lot of ups and downs. But it is possible to come through it a survivor. It's impossible for me to give you a complete picture here - but you can read my blog if you'd like.... I write about it a lot.

Hey guess what-- We all die in the end not just folks with cancer--There is bad days and good days but I never give up and they are finding new things everyday.

I have had cancer several times and have found out that cancer is about cell-mediated immunity, the body's response to perceived attack. Cancer is not what the medical profession are saying. Furthermore I have also found that cancer is easier to get over than the flu, once you know what is involved. It is scary no more! It is not simple and i can't describe it all here. Basically several issues and emotions have to be created and used against the person. Simply put it takes fear -that knocks out the person's immune system (under fear normal immunity is declined)
It takes anger -that makes the person antagonistic and struggling against some perceived foe. And that foe is hardly imaginary when the truth be known. They have names and addressess and phone numbers and they are 2-faced toxic people who want basically two things -power and influence over another person (life and death hold) and the kick they get from doing harm -pleasure from someone else's suffering.
it takes insightful perception to become aware of some foe. this means it can only happen where there is relationship. Usually someone wanting to manipulate and control you or take revenge.
it takes mirror neurons in the brain to make the mental perception appear to be in the body.
It takes cell-mediated immunity -the body attempting to shield itself or an organ from attack and that shield is in the form of a mass of cells.
One thing to do immediately is resolve what ever issue creates anger because no matter what ever else they have anger is a key factor. No struggle no cell-mediated immunity! No cancer formed.
Other emotions may also be involved. Resolve the issues and get rid of the emotional reactivity and cancer stops and the body begins a clean up operation -spontaneous remmission. This can also be hurried along by mental prescription.
Exposure of toxic people's practices is the best solution and that takes raising awareness and combatting the medical industry who make billions on the problem.
And while they chase viruses and carcinogens they can continue to make money while lots of people get sick and have organs removed, have to undergo horrible treatment and some die.

The experience is different for everyone. I am going through chemo for breast cancer. It's scary but I have no pain. I do get fed up with all the poking and prodding and all the tests and doctors visits. I'm hoping that in the end I will be healthy again so I can get back to my life.

It depends on the cancer and the person.

And if people round you have died it seems to me that concentrating on all the suffering is not good for you.

Try to remember these people happy and pain-free.

And quit with the survivors guilt.. remember life is not a dress rehersal.

when anyone hears the word CANCER they freak out. i know i did. it all depends on the emotional balance that ones own inner self deals within as far as the pain goes. sometimes its just where its located and how well one individual deals with the the pain it self. you don't let it consume your every wakening moment of your life. you tell yourself OK! lets deal with this! there are so many people that have it much worse than others but i do think alot of the pain is associated with mental attitude. the last time i saw my surgeon, my sister-in-law was with me and she asked the surgeon whats next and she told us that, your going to die from this but not tomorrow. it didn't up set me because its life. at least i know what may end my life. but there are not certainty's. i could get hit by a car today and die. I'm not planning on giving up, I'm prepared to face all of it head on and when the time comes and more pain comes my doctors have assured me that they will make sure that pain killers are available. everyone has to live life to the fullest and be the best that they can with what time they have on this earth.
