Iching/hurting scratch?!

Question: the other day i suddenly got this scratch on my leg and i didnt see how it happened.
it started to itch and it itched like crazy for a day and then the scratch went away, but yesterday, the scratch started to come back.
it didnt itch or anything but hurt a lil.
(this is on my foot by the way)
but today the area around the scratch is itchy and swollen and it hurts REALLY BAD.
and i dont know if i can explain this right or not, but its not really a scratch today, its just a series of bumps risin abou 2 cm above my skin.
its so wierd!
so i put on hydrocortisone (spelling?) and wrapped a bandage around it.
i have no idea what this could be.
can someone give me some suggestons on what it could be?

This could be a staph infection. Everyone has staph naturally occurring on their skin. The problem begins when you scratch and break the skin and now, the staph germ is able to get under the skin and into the tissues where it sets up an infection. I would be having a doctor look at this before it gets too bad because you may need antibiotics to clear it up.

I would use alcohol on it. It will take care of it and kill any infection that may be setting in if it is not too deep. Go to the doctor if it continues.
