Yes, KB,,, You are stressing out over Ur cat.. and I am sure that is what caused ur numbers to go up...
I am sure she is gonna be OK..
so calm down..

worry makes stress and stress makes the blood rise..
good luck, my Friend..

get the cat to the Vet's office!!
get yourself to the doctor's office!!

Yes, stress and worry can send glucose numbers up, but they should have now come down.

Other things that can send glucose numbers up are infections and illnesses as I am sure you know!

Get thee to the Doctor's office and talk at least to the Diabetes Nurse!!!

Yes stress can cause your blood sugar to increase. If you took 5 units and your blood sugar is still climbing there could be other problems. You are way too high, you need to call your doctor.
JED

stress can elevate a person's blood sugar level. wen in stress, a person's metabolism tends to increase to provide the needed energy of whatever organ it is thats functioning the most, for example the brain.
in relation to this metabolism, there is an increased utilization of the stored glucose in the body in the form of fats (fat that is of other type.) there is a breakdown of the stored form of glucose to become glucose (simple form of sugar). now these simple form of sugar floods to the bloodstream for transportation to the working body organs.
and now you have an elevated blood sugar level!

stress can cause the blood glucose level to go way up and continued stress will make it stay up. it's part of the fight or flight reaction to stress when the body releases glucose to help in our escape

yes, stress can sometimes affect your blood sugars and make them rise. but if you took 5 units and have gone up, there might be a different problem. even if you are worried the insulin should have taken your bloodsugar down. you should call your doctor
