What should I expect after brain surgery??!

Question: I'm due to have coiling to two aneurysms in my brain and am keen to hear about others' experiences. I'm particularly concerned about not being able to care for my children properly afterwards and wanted to know how long I might be out of action for. Any replies gratefully received.

Good luck

good luck! I wish you well!

Sorry I do not know the answer, but good luck and hope you get well soon.

Sorry, I have never had brain surgery, thank the Sky Fairy! after reading and adventures of friends who either had the operation or had friends/relatives go through b. surg.. I can say, as far as getting back in the game, it all depends on where in the brain they are operating. It depends on how much damage they find and connected tissue they have to take out. I think Doctor's can make an educated guess as to likely brain damage. I think I would bite the bullet and ask so as not be surprised at what is likely to happen. Good luck, I'll be thinking of you!

Lass i work with mother had brain surgery and came back into form about 2 1/2 months after. All depends on severity. I think you should look at alternative arrangements for the children till you feel up to it!

I have had the clip in 2003. life is a little different but, it is the kind of person you are that allows you to cope with life. You will probably be able to take care of your kids. Its all in the way you cope with things the way they are now, give yourself a little time to heal. Think positive and everything will be fine for you and your family, you will see. <<<<Prayers for you & your family>>>... you wil be just fine, no worries

I've had 2 brain surgery's and am feeling better tooday than I was before surgery. They cut my head in half and I'm doing fine and living on my own. The trick to surgery is have a good attitude and your body will heal much quicker than somebody who is scared. keep a positive attitude and you will do fine.

Any and all surgery unfortunately carries risks. Please, if you are unsure of what is happening or what the procedure or aftercare or prognoses are, consult your specialist again. Ask as many questions as many times as you have to in order that you know all the pros and cons. I wish you all the best for a full and speedy recovery
