happened to me when my mascara was old and out of date so i threw it away and brought a new one.
never happened to me so i don't know but you need to seek a medical help as it seems serious
That happens to me when I use certain brands of eyeliner. Try hypo-allergenic.
You may have been rubbing your eye too much or pulling on them.
Sore roots can be caused from pulling on them. You may have picked mascara off and they became aggravated...or sometimes washing or scrubbing too hard may irritate the roots of your eyelashes.
I'm guessing here. But if you use mascara, the brush may have bacteria on it - which travels down the lash to the root and causes an infection. I had the same problem with the small scissors I used to trim my beard. Finally I washed the scissors with hot soapy water and the problem went away.
If you get any crusting on your eyelashes you need to get antibiotics from your eye MD.
Otherwise, makeup can irritate your roots. Always wash your hands before you touch your eyes.
if you wear make-up it could be an allergic reaction to the brand you are using.
it could be the start of a stye which can be quite sore before they show up.
i don't know any other reasons.
try laying off eye make-up for a couple of days and seee if that helps.
Lack of sleep does that to me.
