I've recently had this problem, too. Yes, the oils and dirts of hair will effect the outcome of your acne, especially if they are directly touching/covering the skin.
If you want to keep your bangs, then you could always make sure to keep your hair clean and oil free, and wash your face often. While you are at home, keep your hair pulled back or pinned away from your face.. especially while sleeping or right after just washing your face, because that is when your pores are most open and skin is trying to clear itself up, obviously.

However, if you decide you'd like to cut your hair, I suggest cutting it over a weekend or break from school/work/etc. That way, you can cut it, and have a few days to let your skin clear up some before everyone sees. Your face will clear up, either way, it's up to you. Personally, I kept my long hair and bangs, and just kept them out of my face as much as possible.

Good luck and I hope I've been of some help. =)

oily hair will make your acne worse. So all you can do is wash you hair w/shampoo and conditioner daily and treat the acne with creams and stuff.

lol, when your hair is long it makes your forehead somewhat hotter than it should be, sweating clogs your pores and makes more acne!! you should let your forehead breath!! btw i know some people don't believe that acne products work! trust me i'm one of those people but i did try proactive and to my suprise it works, so it's either get rid of the hair or just hide your acne and let it get worse....your choice

hair carries dirt and oil and thats what causes acne but if you prefer not cutting your hair you can just use a face wash in the morning and carry with you a neutragena oil absorber pack it's about $4 or something at target
